Allwinner 7inch A13 Android Tablet - Overclocked - review & games PART 1 leave a reply I've bought three tablets directly from manufacturers in china and after few weeks of waiting paying VAT on them I can finally submit my review. If not for the VAT they would cost significantly less but it looks like Irish Customs are now X-Raying every single parcel and description on the box is not enough for them as they have requested a proof of purchase for every single one. This is the first out of three. There is many different clones of that tablet with different names. I've seen them here in one shop in Cork for 129euro and some chap is selling them online for 149 or so. The cheapest one I've seen was for around 109 on Groupon (saying that it is a saving of 64% from 300 or something)To keep long story short. It has Allwinner A13 SOC chipset (aka Cortex A8) it comes with 512MB Ram , 4 Gigs of memory devided between system and virtual SD card.I was able to root it and overclocked it to 1152 MHz which has increased the overall score in Antutu by nearly 400 points.Tablet is suprisingly responsive , touchscreen which felt a bit weird at the beginning is actually ok, even that it is not covered with glass but with plastic - IT IS CAPACITIVE which is great as I was wondering can You actually get capacitive screen for that amount of money. It doesnt feel cheap at all, and it has nice texture on the back. Manufacturer in its description said that chipset frequency is 1.0 - 1.5 GHz - it will not be stable over 1.2 GHz. I've done a lot of reading about it before ordering yet I was surprised how good it was in 3D graphics. A lot of games that I thought wont even start was running smoothly and system itself was very responsive. I will be honest - ofcourse its not as fast as Tegra 2 not even to compare it to Tegra 3 or Snapdragon but for the money you are paying it is exceptionally good value for your euros. It comes with OTG Usb adapter which will allow you to connect mouse or gamepad or even keyboard if u wish. It also supports 3G sticks but unfortunately the one I have is a really old one and it is not supported but it worked better with my Wi-Fi than 4 times more expensive Asus Transformer :) Skype is working with videocalls - you just need to enable it in Skype settings. The only thing I wish would be better is battery - it does not last long...but maybe it was because I tested it a lot to be sure everything is working :) You start with Play Store installed on it so it is up to you what do you need to install from Google. It is very vanilla experience from ICS. Screen doesnt have the best viewing angles but it is more than enough to watch Netflix, Youtube or xxx if u wish to :) It is a good product and I really cant find anything bad about it - it handles FULL HD videos and decodes them flawlessly - it is a bit pointless to watch full HD videos on 800x480 screen but my laptop (it is few years old I know) on which I'm just writing that review had problems with it. It has speaker on the back (I would say its mono) but it is loud enough - I had to turn it down on the video as You might have noticed. As I've bought it only for a purpose of this review and I hope to sell it fast you might ask me questions but I might not have the answers as tablet hopefully will have a new happy owner. THE CONCLUSION :If you are looking to start your adventure with Android or you are just looking to have a cheap and cheerfull tablet computer it is definitevely way to go. It will bring a lot of fun and it does all what it was designed for :) It charges through USB port (which Motorola XOOM or Asus Transformer or Advent Vega cant do), sound through headphone jack is good enough. It is not a demon of speed but I really wasnt expecting that - yet I was REALLY, REALLY surprised how snappy that device was.-http://gameprostar.com/allwinner-7inch-a13-android-tablet-overclocked-review-games-part-1/-7inch, Allwinner, Android, Games, Overclocked, Part, Review, Tablet-Android Tweet Share Share Share Share Previous Post MMO!
