World of Warship is made by the same developer as the world of tanks there it deserves an obvious spot in this list of games like World of tanks. Like orld of tanks, this game has different tiered warships to choose from different classes like battleships, cruisers, destroyers and air craft carrier. Like the world of tanks, you are pitched in team battles in different game modes. You earn experience and credits that is later used to research and buy new warships.

World of warships is another game like the world of tanks made by the same developer. It complete the trio of Air, Land and Water titles. This titles features more than a 100 planes from 6 nations to choose from. Like the world of tanks, world of warplanes also has four different classes of airplanes to choose from. Take not that this not a simulation game.

Next on the the list is War Thunder. This is one of the best non wargaming games like World of Tanks. It is also WW2 based MMO with a huge fan following. War thunder features a plethora of vehicles. It was primarily built for planes, but now includes tank warfare as well. One of the best thing about War thunder is that both tanks and planes could be fighting on the same map. So you can choose to come with either your tank or your warplane.

Armored warfare is another game like world of tanks but with modern warfare. In fact, it is a game exactly like the world of tanks but with modern tanks and armor. From the garage, to the game mechanics, almost everything is similar. This game is not made by Wargaming, but by Obsidian instead and is being called the world of tanks killer.

Mechwarrior online is an online MMO game like WoT in the sense that it is a freemium strategy shooter kind of a game; however, it is very distinct in play style. Instead of tanks, here you operate huge robots, which are a lot tougher to operate.

Another robotic warfare game that is similar to WoT is Hawken. Whereas WoT and Mechwarrior online are strategy shooter, Hawken is a fast paced game. Kind of like FPS but with freemium based MMO gaming model.

Minecraft is one of the most unique game that happens to be similar to WoT. Here instead of just driving a tank, you actually build your own tank with cubes. If you have played minecraft then you would know what cube construction is. The game doesn't end there. You build more than just tanks. You can build walkers, helicopters, bombers, hover craft etc.

Gear up, like mincraft, is a tank building game with a funny and cartoony feel to it. It is like world of tanks in the sense that you are pitched in battles and you get to choose tanks, it doesn't follow the same freemium model at the moment. Instead it is available on sale in three package i.e free to play, basic and premium package. With basic and freemium you basically get more modification options and other goodies. You do get to earn credits with which you then unlock new modules.

In the realm of deep space, first up we have star conflict made by the same developer that has made war thunder. This is a game like world of tanks and war thunder but in space. If you want to have star wars like feeling to the battles that you play, then check this game out.

Lastly we have dreadnought. Set to release in 2016, this is a game that takes inspiration from world of tanks and Battlestar Galactica. It is a strategy shooter MMO, where you choose from 5 different classes of heavily armed spaceships.

You should also know that there is a game like World of tanks made by a Chinese company called Project Tank. According to Wargaming, the game has copied assets from the WoT inclduding artwork. You decide if it deserves to have a spot here.

There are aren't a lot of games like World of Tanks out there. World of tanks was the first of its kind and it is correct to believe that a lot more similar games will start surfacing soon.

Of all the game shown here the one that I believe to be most similar is the Armored Warfare. It is basically the same game but with modern tanks.
