In fact, I would even argue that it’s an improvement over the original Xbox 360 controller - as this was a good controller. This one.. I like it more because it feels more natural in my hands and my fingers feel more natural being on the triggers.I purchased my Xbox One console on the Microsoft Online Store during a Black Friday deal. They had a refurbished console which came with a Kinect and 3 games, plus one more game of my choice. So I was able to choose whatever game I wanted. As the controller did work great on the Xbox One console, I wanted to try it on my PC. So let’s go ahead and connect this controller to a PC.Since the controller connects using a microUSB cable, I figured it would just work by plugging it into my system and Microsoft would automatically download the drivers for me. It turns out that you need to manually download and install the drivers yourself. Fortunately, Microsoft did released these drivers on their own website, and they are available for download today. The first step to connecting your controller to a PC is to head over to the download page of the drivers which should be available in the link below. Then, depending on whether your machine is 32 bit or 64 bit, you’ll want to download either X86 or X64 drivers. If your computer has 4 or more gigabytes of RAM, then you probably have a 64-bit machine, so download the X64 driver. When the download finishes, run the program and follow the prompts on the screen. When that is done, you can now connect your Xbox One Controller to the PC using a microUSB cable. As soon as you plug it in, It should vibrate and show up as a new device. If it does not vibrate, it’s possible you have a microUSB charging cable, and this cable does not handle data - it only charges devices. That’s what happened to me. If you’re still having trouble, go ahead and comment below and we’ll try our best to help you solve the problems. So now that the controller is connected, my computer recognizes the device, let’s go ahead and test it out.As soon as I launched Steam, I noticed it instantly responded to my controller, since I was able to navigate around and everything worked just fine. I tested the controller out on a couple games, including DC Universe. The game instantly recognized my controller and I was able to play without configuring any settings. I also noticed the button mapping was the same as when I used to use my PS3 controller to play PC games. Some games are able to instantly map the buttons for you, while other games need to be reconfigured to work with the Xbox One Controller since Microsoft is basically emulating this controller as a 360 pad.If you continue to experience issues with your installation, leave a comment below, and we will be glad to help.
