Indie 2D MMO Game Development: Introduction



Decided to start uploading videos of the progress I make in my glorious quest to develop my own 2D MMO game from scratch.

The engine is a custom one, written in C++, using OpenGL for rendering and Lua as the script interpreter.

Other tools, such as the map editor featured in this video will be covered more extensively in future videos.

Game-specific code (both on the client and server) are written in Lua.

DISCLAIMER: I do not own any of the art featured in this video. (And it's all placeholder anyway :D)
That being said, the style of art used is very much the direction I'm looking to go in.
